Some of our designers attended the Typographics conference at The Cooper Union this year to learn from and hobnob with leaders in the contemporary use of type.
Typographics 2019 brought together all kinds of people who use type from all over the world. Debates raged over topics as large as modernism and as small as the humble serif. Katie was particularly excited to have the opportunity to attend a talk given by legendary type designer Matthew Carter, creator of such typefaces as Georgia and Verdana.
The latest innovations in typography were also on full display. The name tags for the conference featured a variable font, meaning that the font could easily scale to fit the width of the tag, no matter how long or short your name was. SARANKCO designers walked away from the conference feeling inspired by both the rich history and the future possibilities in the world of typography.
